Recipe Variations:
- Add diced jalapenos, jalapeño juice or green chilies for extra spice.
- Use this cheese sauce as a base for a queso dip by adding diced tomatoes, green onions, and ground beef.
Recipe Substitutions:

- Use half-and-half or whole milk instead of heavy cream for a lighter version of the sauce.
- Replace the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of tapioca flour for a gluten-free version.

So I made this! It had great flavor!! However I love Taco Bell Bach sauce and I still have not found a recipe similar. This sauce was really rich in flavor. It could have been my cheese. I like sharp. I want to try it again but maybe more mild cheddar, and do you think half and half would work?
Charlotte Singh-Dhanraj says
Thanks so much for sharing your experience Ashley! I think you should absolutely experiement with the cheese to get the exact flavor you are looking for! I haven't tried half and half, I don't think it will be a problem, you may need a bit more cornstarch to get the right thickness though. Go a little at a time. I'd love to hear how it turns out! Thanks for trying my recipe!
